Temple of Ramses II
At Abu Simbel, the statues are now dedicated to Ramses. Now it is also a Temple. It has earned the name of "House of Ramses, Beloved of Amun". To protect the Temple from rising water, they had to lift it to higher ground. It cost 40 million US Dollars.
The Tomb of Ramses II
Ramses' tomb is located in the Valley of Kings and his tomb is empty. However, his mummy has been found. He has the best preserved body of a Pharoah that has ever been found.

Ramses Devoted To Vast Buildings
Ramses loved buildings like to capital in the Nile Delta. One of the most famous ones was in the city of Abu Simbel where he built a rock temple. Since he was very wealthy, he made alot of pictures carved in stone of himself.

More Wars with Enemies
Ramses was a prolific ruler. He fought to reclaim territory in Africa and Western Asia. Asia Minor and Hittities were his main opponents. On his fifth year of being Pharaoh, he led his army to the battle of Kadesh. He lost the battle.
King Ramses the Warrior
Ramses sent 20,000 soldiers to the north into Syria to protect his empire against Hittite invaders.I said earlier that his empire was large.It was from South Syria to the Fourth Cateract of the River Nile.That was the reasoning he did this.He had a very luxurious social life.His duty was to presrve the union of Upper and Lower Egypt.
Birth and Start of Rule for Ramses
Ramses II was the child of Queen Tuy and King Seti I.He was born around the year1303BC.He was born at the Nile Delta.He took thorne at the age of 24.From that day, he ruled 67 years.No other pharoah got even close to have a rein like that.He wasn't the original heir for the crown and the throne but,instead insurped it.He was known as the Warrior King and Son of Ra.

Ramses II reined over Egypt for 67 years from 1292-1227BC.He was one of Egypt's greatest warriors yet, he was a peacemaker.He left behind many monuments of himself.He created a huge empire from Syria all the way to the Fourth Cataract of River Nile.He was a man that had alot of luxury, increased slavery, and the growth of a mersenary army was created by this man.
